About Alexandra Martins, MD
Alexandra R. Martins, MD is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Medicine's Westchester Division. She treats patients at the Westchester Division's Partial Hospitalization Program and sees patients through their Outpatient Department. She was trained at Tufts University School of Medicine and completed Internship and Residency at NYPH Columbia Medical Center and New York State Psychiatric Institute. Prior to her affiliation at Weill Cornell, she worked as an Attending Psychiatrist providing psychiatric care to a severe and persistently mentally ill population at NYSPI’s Washington Heights Community Service, focusing on severe psychotic and mood disorders. She also participated in Columbia's residency training by providing supervision through their resident's clinic and contributing to the didactic curriculum. She also maintained a private practice for 7 years in Manhattan seeing a general adult population including Columbia Medical Center house staff and Columbia University students for psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. She now translates this experience to her work at Westchester Division.
