About Alice Tang, M.D., MHPE

Alice Tang, MD, MHPE obtained her medical degree from Rush Medical College and completed her residency and chief residency at NYU School of Medicine. She obtained a Master in Health Professions Education from Maastricht University and is currently Assistant Chief for Education and Co-Director of the Clinical Scholars Program in the Section of Hospital Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College.


In her role, she uses curricular innovation and faculty development to change the culture of feedback across the educational continuum. She also leads faculty recruitment, onboarding, and early career development, especially for junior faculty and clinician educators in the section of over 100 faculty.


She was awarded several grants to study her programs, including the NEGEA Scholar Grant (2020-2022) to study a novel "Resident-as-Attending" rotation with attending coaches and the Institute of Primary Care Innovation Seed Grant (2024-2025) to study the Master Coach Program, a longitudinal coach training program for Adult and Pediatric Hospital Medicine faculty which develops faculty coaching skills throughout workshops, a coaching Objective Structured Teaching Examination, journal clubs, case conferences, peer coaching, and video review. She has presented dozens of local, regional, and national workshops onfaculty development topics such as feedback, coaching, growth mindset, and harnessing Self Determination Theory. She teaches at the Harvard Macy Institute's Assessment and Evaluation: Systems Thinking in Health Professions Education course.
