About Alyssa E Bautista, MD
Dr. Alyssa Bautista is an Assistant Professor of Neurology who serves as an Attending Neurohospitalist at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. As the newly appointed Director for the Hospitalist Neurology Program, she oversees the neurology inpatient and consultative services across CUIMC (New YorkPresbyterian-Milstein Hospital), NewYork Presbyterian-Westchester Hospital, and NewYork Presbyterian-Allen Hospital. As a clinician, she specializes in the inpatient care of acute neurological disorders and emergencies, with a subspecialty in the field of stroke and vascular neurology.
During her training and years as an attending, Dr. Bautista has received recognition for her dedication to education, humanism, and excellence in patient care, including the prestigious Lewis P. Rowland Teaching Award (2021) from the Columbia Neurology Residency Program, and Outstanding Teacher of the Year (2021) from Columbia Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Bautista earned her M.D. from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. She completed a residency in Neurology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine - Jackson Memorial Hospital after a year of internship in Internal Medicine at the New York Medical College - Metropolitan Hospital Center. She further pursued a fellowship in Vascular Neurology at the University of California, San Diego.
Dr. Bautista is double board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, in both Neurology, and Vascular Neurology. She is a member of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, World Stroke Organization, and the American Academy of Neurology.
