About Amanda Webb, LMSW
Amanda Webb, LMSW, is a licensed social worker and an Associate in Psychiatric Social Work at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) Faculty Practice Organization in midtown Manhattan.Amanda is intensively trained in the implementation of evidence-based treatment approaches, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed treatments. Through these treatments, Amanda embraces cultural humility and strives to promote self-empowerment in her clients. She specializes in working with children, adolescents, and young adults struggling with mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, suicidality, and self-harm behaviors. Further, she emphasizes engaging family in treatments to promote the health of individual clients.Amanda received her B.A. in Psychology from Georgetown University and subsequently worked as a Data and Clinic Coordinator at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Irving Medical Center in Pediatric Psychiatry across the Special Needs Clinic, School-Based Mental Health program, and Youth Anxiety Center of Washington Heights. Amanda then received her Master of Social Work degree from Columbia University, where she was selected as a member of the DBT Training Program. She completed a clinical internship at the Child Study Center at Hassenfeld Children's Hospital of NYU Langone where she specialized in implementing CBT and DBT for adolescents and their families. Additionally, she completed a clinical internship at the New York Founding where she provided Trauma-Focused CBT to children and families in the foster care system.Amanda is a member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, and the American Psychological Association.
