About Amy Miranda, L.C.S.W

Ms. Miranda grew up in Massachusetts and completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Political Science at Middlebury College. At Middlebury, she conducted research on the culpability often assigned to survivors of sexual assault on account of bias for her honor's thesis. Subsequently, she received her master's degree in social work from Boston College with a focus on children and adolescents. Prior to joining the Specialty Center, she was the program coordinator for the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Psychiatry Department at New York Presbyterian Hospital and Weill Cornell Medicine. Ms. Miranda is also a volunteer evaluator for the Weill Cornell Center for Human Rights and conducts psychological evaluations for children and adults seeking asylum.


Ms. Miranda has pursued advanced training in cognitive behavioral therapy through the Beck Institute. She has also contributed to several presentations at the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry on behavioral parent management training.
