About Ashley Beecy, MD
Dr. Ashley Beecy is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology at Weill Cornell Medicine and New York Presbyterian Hospital. She practices Cardiovascular Medicine with a focus on preventive cardiology, valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease and pre-operative risk assessment. In addition to caring for patients, she interprets stress tests, electrocardiograms, echocardiograms and vascular ultrasound. She serves as an attending physician on the consultative cardiology service, inpatient telemetry unit (4N), and cardiac intensive care unit.
Dr. Beecy received an undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering and worked as an Engineer at IBM as well as a Vice President in Operational Risk Management at Citi. She attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she graduated with a Distinction in Research. She completed Internal Medicine residency at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine and then pursued a clinical research fellowship at the Dalio Institute for Cardiovascular Imaging. She completed her fellowship training in Cardiovascular Diseases at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine, where she served as Chief Cardiology Fellow.
Dr. Beecy has a research focus in digital health including the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to study cardiovascular images and electronic health record data. She serves as part of New York Presbyterian's IT Transformation team. This department maintains strategies that transform hospital operations, clinical outcomes and patient experience with oversight over enterprise teams of AI, mobile and web technologies.
Dr. Beecy is board-certified in Internal Medicine and is a Registered Physician in Vascular Imaging (RPVI). She is a member of the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, and the American Society of Echocardiography.
