Dr. Charles A. Popkin, MD, specializes in sports-related injuries of the knee, shoulder, elbow, and hip for the pediatric, adolescent, and collegiate athlete. He serves as team physician for the 17 varsity teams of the City College of New York (CCNY) as well as for Bronxville High School. In addition, he is an orthopedic consultant to Mercy College and Sarah Lawrence College.Currently, Dr. Popkin is conducting research on hockey injuries to the knee, ACL injury prevention, ACL reconstruction techniques in the pediatric athlete, the influence of parents on sports performance, and advanced arthroscopic techniques of the elbow. Dr. Charles A. Popkin, MD, specializes in sports-related injuries of the knee, shoulder, elbow, and hip for the pediatric, adolescent, and collegiate athlete. He attended Colgate University in upstate New York, where he played football as a defensive back for the Raiders. He is a life-long hockey fan and, during his training, has cared for college hockey teams in both Canada and Minnesota. Dr. Popkin resides in Westchester with his wife and two sons.
