About Christy Pomeranz, M.D.
Christy Pomeranz, MD is a radiologist specializing in Pediatric Radiology. She is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Assistant Attending Radiologist at the New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Campus and Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
Dr. Pomeranz attended Columbia University where she graduated in 2004 with honors with a B.A. in Philosophy and Economics. Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Pomeranz worked in research for the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology at the Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital, where she focused on pediatric diabetes and congenital adrenal hyperplasia. Dr. Pomeranz graduated from Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine in 2011, where she was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society in the spring of her junior year, which honors the top 10% of the medical school class. She completed her medical internship in Internal Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital in 2012. She served as a resident in Diagnostic Radiology at New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell, where she did additional mini-fellowships in pediatric musculoskeletal imaging at the Hospital for Special Surgery and pediatric oncologic imaging at Memorial Sloan Kettering. She completed fellowship training in Body Imaging at Weill Cornell in 2017 and in pediatric radiology at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in 2018. She joined the faculty at Weill Cornell in August of 2018.
Dr. Pomeranz's academic and clinic interests include congenital heart disease and cardiac imaging, with a particular focus on cardiac CT, as well pediatric body and musculoskeletal MRI.
Dr. Pomeranz has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and has lectured at several national and regional meetings. She serves as a reviewer for the pediatric sections of Skeletal Radiology and Clinical Imaging journals. She also has a particular interest in resident and medical student education. She serves as an instructor in a department-wide communications workshop that aims to train radiologists to more effectively communicate with patients. She is actively involved in lecturing and teaching the residents and medical students. She is currently an active member of Society for Pediatric Radiology and American Board of Radiology.
