About David Edmund Anstey, MD, MPH
D. Edmund Anstey, MD, MPH is a noninvasive cardiologist and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Anstey is a clinical noninvasive cardiologist with expertise in preventative cardiology, valvular and coronary heart disease, arrhythmic disorders and cardiomyopathies. Dr. Anstey is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and echocardiography.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Anstey received his bachelor's degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He was an Intern and Resident at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. Dr. Anstey did a fellowship in cardiology and was Chief Fellow at Columbia University Irving Medical Center during which time he also obtained a Masters in Public Health from Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health. He went on to complete an additional advanced fellowship in echocardiography at Columbia University.
Dr. Anstey has a special area of expertise in sports medicine and hypertension. He has extensive clinical and research experience in cardiovascular manifestations of hypertension, ambulatory and home blood pressure monitoring, and socioeconomic determinants of health.
