About Dorothy A Sippo, MD
Dr. Dorothy Sippo is a board-certified radiologist with subspecialty training in breast imaging. She is an associate professor of radiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and an attending radiologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Sippo has expertise in all aspects of state-of-the-art breast imaging and interventions, including mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis, ultrasound, MRI, and biopsy procedures.
Widely recognized for her leadership and expertise in clinical informatics, Dr. Sippo also serves as vice chair of informatics for the Department of Radiology oversees the implementation of artificial intelligence tools into the department's clinical workflows. She has a particular focus on creating tools that help radiologists learn continuously from patient outcomes, and she has applied informatics methods to develop and implement automatic feedback systems for breast imaging radiologists.
Dr. Sippo has been recognized with numerous awards and honors, including the Association of University Radiologists GE Radiology Research Academic Fellowship (GERRAF) Award. She is a fellow of the Society of Breast Imaging (SBI).
After receiving her medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Dr. Sippo completed a diagnostic radiology residency at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. She then completed a combined breast imaging and imaging informatics fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital, as well as a Master of Public Health at Harvard School of Public Health.
