Dr. Erin M. Iannacone is an Attending Cardiothoracic Surgeon and Assistant Professor in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at NewYork Presbyterian | Weill Cornell Medicine.


Cardiac surgeon Dr. Erin Iannacone joined the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery in 2017 and is currently the Program Director for the Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship, the Director of ECMO for NYP | Weill Cornell Medicine, and the Medical Director of the Cardiothoracic Surgical Step Down Unit.


Dr. Iannacone's interests include the surgical management of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH), structural heart disease, aortic aneurysmal disease, and cardiovascular disease in women. She is passionate about medical education and the nuances of training from the pre-medical student level to that of advanced fellows. Dr. Iannacone has extensive experience in coronary artery bypass grafting including multi-arterial strategies, the management of structural heart disease including percutaneous options, and the surgical treatment of aortic disease including root, ascending, arch, and descending aneurysms and dissections. She started the pulmonary thromboendarterectomy program for the management of CTEPH and thrives on the multi-disciplinary nature of her areas of focus.


Dr. Iannacone's interests include all aspects of adult cardiac surgery, with a special focus on aortic aneurysmal disease and cardiovascular disease in women. She is passionate about medical education and the nuances of training from the pre-medical student level to that of advanced fellows. Dr. Iannacone has extensive experience in coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG) including multi-arterial grafting, structural heart disease, disease of the aortic and mitral valves, surgical treatment of atrial fibrillation, and surgical treatment of aortic disease including root, ascending, arch, and descending aneurysms and dissections.
