About Fady Khoury-Collado, MD
Fady Khoury Collado, MD is a gynecologic oncologist specializing in surgeries for gynecologic cancers, including cancers of the ovary, uterus, cervix, vulva and vagina. He has extensive experience in minimally invasive surgery and lymphatic mapping. Dr. Khoury Collado collaborates with a multidisciplinary team of liver and colorectal surgeons when operating on patients with advanced ovarian cancer with the goal of providing the best possible outcomes for his patients.
In addition, he has a special interest in the surgical management of patients with placenta accreta spectrum (PAS). He is the co-director of the Placenta Accreta Center, which includes a multidisciplinary team of specialists in maternal-fetal medicine, obstetrical anesthesia, urology, radiology, critical care and mental health. He has performed more than 100 surgeries involving placenta accreta since joining Columbia and his experience in managing this complex and life-threatening condition spans over a decade. He has pioneered several changes in the surgical management of PAS at CUIMC, including performing most of the surgeries through the same transverse incision utilized for cesarean deliveries and exploring surgical options for fertility preservation.
Dr. Khoury Collado completed his training in gynecologic oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. After completing his fellowship, he joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn where he became the Director of Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology before joining the Gynecologic Oncology Division at CUIMC.
