About Fahmida Islam, MD, MS
Fahmida Islam, MD, MS, is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center and cares for hospitalized children and adolescents in the Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of New York-Presbyterian. Her research focus is on health equity and family centered care. She received her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine before completing her Pediatrics residency at NYP-Columbia, Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital. She completed her fellowship in Pediatric Hospital Medicine at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore, during which time she also completed her master's degree in clinical research at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr Islam is both a board-certified pediatrician and a board-certified hospital medicine physician. She is passionate about providing excellent evidence-based clinical care, educating students and physicians in training, and using quality improvement research to improve the lives of hospitalized children and their families.
