About Franco Paul Cerabona, MD
Dr. Cerabona is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Board of Spine Surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the North American Spine Society. He has published in State-of-the-Art Spine Surgery, in which he contributed to several chapters on spinal biomechanics. He has written chapters in other textbooks on spinal instrumentation and surgical techniques. Dr. Cerabona has also presented at the North American Spine Society, the American Spinal Injury Society and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery.
After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Dr. Cerabona completed a general surgery residency at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center and an orthopaedic surgery residency at St. Vincent's Hospital Manhattan. He subsequently completed a fellowship in spinal surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery.
He is the Associate Editor of the Journal of Current Orthopedic Practice. Dr. Cerabona specializes in adult reconstructive spinal surgery, including cervical and lumbar degenerative conditions, deformities, tumors and trauma. He has completed training programs in advanced surgical techniques for complex spinal deformity, minimally-invasive surgery, kyphoplasty, and disc-replacement surgery.
