About Heather Goodman, M.D.

Dr. Heather Goodman is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Assistant Attending Psychiatrist at the New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Goodman graduated from Brown University with a degree in Comparative Literature. After beginning a career in book publishing, she realized that she wanted to become a physician. She went on to receive her M.D. at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed residency training in adult psychiatry at the New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medicine. Her interest in working with children, adolescents and their families led her to pursue a fellowship in child & adolescent psychiatry at the New York Presbyterian Hospital's combined program of Columbia and Cornell Universities. She is board certified in both Adult Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Goodman has been recognized for her dedication to patient-centered care. At the conclusion of her fellowship, she received the Edward J. Sachar award for clinical excellence in child psychiatry. During her residency, she received multiple Shining Star Service Awards directly from her patients. Dr. Goodman currently welcomes new patients. She is available for diagnostic consultations, medication management, and psychotherapy with young children, teenagers, adults and their families.
