James Connolly, MD is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian at Weill Cornell Medicine. Dr. Connolly received his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2017. He went on to complete his general surgery residency training at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell, where he was awarded a T32 research fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to study the genetic underpinnings of cancer progression. His research interests center on the management of rectal cancer, organ preservation strategies, and early onset colorectal cancer.
