About Jamie Marino, PhD
Dr. Marino received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Fordham University in 2013, and a Master of Science degree in infectious diseases from Drexel University in 2015. After which, she continued her graduate school training, completing her Ph.D. in 2020 from Drexel University in microbiology and immunology. She furthered her training at Weill Cornell Medicine in the area of clinical microbiology and infectious diseases as a post-doctoral fellow. As a fellow, she received an early career investigator award, several travel awards, and a young investigator award from the Academy of Clinical Laboratory Physicians and Scientists in 2022. To date, she has published eight peer reviewed research articles in the area of clinical microbiology with a recent focus on comparative genomics as it relates to stress response genes in developing antibiotic resistance of staphylococcus. She has also been successful in publishing three review articles focused on HIV –1 TAT; and, with Dr. Lars Westblade in our department, she has published four book chapters focused on Carbapenemases. She joins our faculty as Assistant Professor in the Microbiology division of our department.
