About Jeffrey Blake Alpert, M.D.
Jeffrey Alpert, M.D. is a board-certified diagnostic radiologist specializing in cardiothoracic imaging. He graduated from Wake Forest University earning a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Biology in 1998, and he earned his medical degree from the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine in 2004. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland Medical System from 2004-2005, followed by residency training in Diagnostic Radiology from 2005-2009 at Lenox Hill Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Alpert then completed a fellowship in Thoracic Radiology at NYU Langone Health from 2009-2010.
Dr. Alpert was a faculty member of the NYU Grossman School of Medicine in the Department of Radiology for over a decade where he served as the Director of Clinical Medical Student Education in Radiology from 2018-2023 and Associate Professor of Radiology. He received the Excellence in Educational Innovation Award in 2021 and was recognized as the Distinguished Teacher in the Clinical Sciences in 2022.
Dr. Alpert joined the Division of Cardiothoracic Imaging at Weill Cornell Medicine in July 2024. His clinical interests include sarcoidosis and interstitial lung diseases, lung infection, and diagnosis and management of lung cancer.
He is a long-time volunteer for the American Board of Radiology and currently serves as the chairperson of the Thoracic Certifying Committee.
