Dr. Joseph Picoraro is a pediatric gastroenterologist who strives to provide comprehensive care for each child in the context of his or her family. He serves on the Greater New York Chapter Medical Advisory and Government and Industry Affairs Committees of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundationand the Clinical Care and Quality Committee of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. Dr. Picoraro completed medical school training (MD) at University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, internship and residency training in general pediatrics at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition fellowship training at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital and Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Picoraro is driven to foster a medical system in which children and families are provided targeted treatments while incorporating inclusive decision-making. His research focuses on improving the comprehensive and tailored care of children with gastrointestinal diseases, with a focus on Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
