About Kathleen Reil, L.Ac

Dr. Reil completed her undergraduate degree at Wesleyan University, her Master's in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Health Sciences in New York, and her doctorate at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine-CIIS in San Francisco. She is nationally board-certified in acupuncture and herbal medicine through NCCAOM. She has completed additional training in oncology support with acupuncture through Memorial Sloan Kettering and trauma recovery through Acupuncturists without Borders. She is currently completing a 3-year Somatic Experiencing training, which is a body-centered modality to support healing from trauma, stress-related disorders, and chronic syndromes. Prior to joining Weill Cornell Medicine, she spent several years specializing in an integrative approach to all aspects of gynecology and fertility. She is passionate about palliative and hospice care and is honored to support patients through grief and loss of all kinds.

Before studying Chinese medicine, Kate taught yoga to youth all over NYC in schools and community centers, and trained others across the country to do the same. She has been practicing and teaching yoga, meditation, breathwork, and somatic techniques to adults for two decades. The more she cultivates these inner resources, the more she experiences greater vitality and wonder, and loves to witness patients' own processes of self-exploration and vibrant living.
