About Liliya Gershengoren, MD

Dr. Gershengoren attended a combined specialized B.A.-M.D. Program through Brooklyn College and SUNY Downstate Medical Center. She graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Psychology from Brooklyn College. Subsequently, she received her M.D. degree at SUNY Downstate Medical Center where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. During her time in medical school, Dr Gershengoren also completed a Masters in Public Health with a focus on community mental health. She went on to complete her residency in General Adult Psychiatry at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she received the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Department Trainee Award and a fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine (Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry) at the New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. She also completed psychoanalytic fellowship at the New York Psychoanalytic Society & Institute.In addition to her clinical and hospital responsibilities, Dr. Gershengoren is involved in medical student education as well as supervises psychiatric residents in training. She has published on the role of the psychiatric consultant on the bone marrow transplant service as well as contributed to several published Psychiatric Board Review study guides.  She practices in English and Russian.Office hours by appointment only.To schedule an appointment, call (212) 746-3844.
