About Lisa C. Hudgins, M.D.

Dr. Hudgins is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and Pediatric Director of The Rogosin Institute Comprehensive Lipid Control Center CLCC since 1995. She completed medical school at The University of Pennsylvania, her pediatric residency at Jacobi and Albert Einstein Hospitals, and then carried out patient-oriented lipid research at The Rockefeller University, continuing at Rogosin and Cornell. At the CLCC, Dr. Hudgins works closely with registered dietitians to treat children with high blood levels of cholesterol and/or triglycerides as early in life as possible. Medications are reserved for severe cases that are usually inherited and often poorly responsive to an improved lifestyle. She believes that the early identification and treatment of lipid abnormalities will prevent conditions such as obesity, diabetes, kidney disease, and cardiovascular disease that are so difficult to treat in adulthood.
