About Madeleine Drusin, M.D., M.Sc.
Dr. Drusin, M.D., M.Sc. is Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine – New York Presbyterian Hospital who specializes in pediatric otolaryngology.
She received her undergraduate and medical degrees from Columbia University in New York. Dr. Drusin also obtained a master's in science at the K.U. Leuven in Belgium. She completed her residency training at the New York Presbyterian Hospitals of Columbia and Cornell Universities. Following residency, she completed subspecialty training in Complex Pediatric Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at Seattle Children's Hospital of the University of Washington. Dr. Drusin is Board Certified by the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology (ASPO).
In addition to the management of common ear, nose and throat problems, Dr. Drusin had advanced training in the management of multiple conditions related to pediatric ear, hearing, and communication disorders. These include cochlear implants, congenital hearing loss including congenital cytomegalovirus infection, progressive hearing loss, cholesteatoma, conductive hearing loss and microtia as well as treatment with hearing aids, bone conduction sound processors, otologic reconstructive surgery, and cochlear implantation. She is also experienced with the management of cleft palate and velopharyngeal insufficiency affecting speech and swallowing.
Dr. Drusin is also experienced in the management of airway and swallowing disorders including laryngeal clefts, airway narrowing, and obstructive sleep apnea with minimally invasive endoscopic techniques as well as open procedures. She is also trained in the management of congenital and acquired neck masses including thyroglossal duct and branchial cleft cysts, enlarged lymph nodes, and vascular anomalies including hemangioma.
Throughout her career, Dr. Drusin has been recognized with awards for her service and teaching. She has presented her research at both national and international meetings and has published multiple articles on pediatric head and neck masses, advanced techniques in otologic surgery, hearing loss, and cochlear implantation.
