About Mark B Stoopler, MD
Dr. Stoopler received his Bachelor of Science degree from Tulane University in 1971 and his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in 1975. He completed his residency at North Shore University Hospital/Memorial Hospital and his oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City before joining the Columbia faculty in 1980. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, the International Society of Gastrointestinal Oncology, the American Federation for Clinical Research and the Southwest Oncology Group. Dr. Stoopler is the giant in his field. He has been the best doctor for me for years with his great medical expertise knowledge, vast clinical experience, and sharp judgement. His approach to his patients was very personal with detailed attention and kindness. His follow-up was always there in that while I was under his care, I did not worry about anything. I owe my life to him and feel sad that I cannot have him anymore as my doctor for lung cancer but very happy he will be enjoying his retirement which he deserves relaxed time for himself after 47 years of devotion to his patients at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. Bravo to his selfless contribution to his patients at Columbia!!! Thank you deeply in my heart, Dr. Stoopler!!! You saved my life.
