About Michael I. Jacobs, MD
Dr. Michael I Jacobs is a Manhattan-based, Board Certified dermatologist with extensive experience in office practice, research, and teaching. In addition to his position as Associate Attending Dermatologist at New York Presbyterian Hospital (NYPH) and The Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), Dr. Jacobs is Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology at Weill Cornell Medical College, where he teaches Cornell medical students and Cornell dermatology residents. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery as well as a member of the American College of Rheumatology.Dr. Jacobs graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude from NYU at the age of 20. He received his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College at the age of 24. At 28, he both entered private practice and was appointed the Director of Dermatology at HSS, Cornell's orthopedic and rheumatology hospital.Dr. Jacobs is active in the contemporary art world, having participated during the last 20 years on contemporary art acquisition committees at the Whitney Museum, MoMA, Getty Museum, Asia Society Museum, Museum of the Art Institute Chicago, Renaissance Society of Chicago, Johnson Museum at Cornell University, Hirshhorn Museum (Washington DC), and the Tate Modern Museum (London). His passion for contemporary art, beginning during his university days at NYU, has greatly influenced his practice of cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Jacobs' artistic eye has proven key in helping determine the correct combination of Botox, Juvederm, Voluma and lasers to use on patients to make the final results look natural and not overdone.
