About Nathalie Moise, MD, MS
Nathalie Moise is an internist, Associate Professor of Medicine, and Director of Implementation Science Research (the Im_Sci Lab) at the Center for Behavioral and Cardiovascular Health with training in epidemiology and implementation science. She has worked in health services research for more than 10 years and is PI/MPI of several federally funded grants (NIH, AHRQ, PCORI) leveraging hybrid effectiveness-implementation trial designs to test implementation and de-implementation strategies for promoting behavioral interventions in primary care and cardio-oncology settings, including MPI of AHRQ EQUIP Learning Health System Center and NIA Roybal Center grants.
Dr. Moise has been the implementation science co-investigator/consultant for more than 20 funded grants, including core lead for an NIMHD P50 cardio-oncology center grant and has published extensively in the areas of behavioral health, patient engagement/adherence, implementation science and clinical inertia. Dr. Moise received her undergraduate degree from Princeton University and completed medical school at Mount Sinai School of Medicine before completing her residency and general internal medicine fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital – Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She went on to receive an MS in epidemiology from Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University and a Certificate in Implementation Science from UCSF. She is currently a physician scientist at the Center for Behavioral Cardiovascular Health, where she directs the ImSci Lab, a lab dedicated to bringing healthcare research into the real world. The lab focuses on co-developing practice solutions to complex health challenges and designing digital behavioral health interventions that promote both emotional and physical wellbeing by leveraging implementation science, human-centered design and behavioral science. To date the lab has conducted nearly 200 consultations. Dr. Moise is also a primary care clinician in the AIM clinic dedicated to providing high quality care to historically marginalized populations with multiple chronic conditions, including cardiovascular disease and cancer. She is passionate about mentorship, and has mentored over 20 trainees and junior faculty members. She has served as faculty for the UCSF implementation science certificate course and NHLBI Research in Implementation Science for Equity summer program, co-leads the CTSA's Implementation Science Initiative, is Associate Editor of Implementation Research and Practice and founding member of the American Heart Association's Implementation Science Committee.
