About P. Stephen Oh, M.D.
P. Stephen Oh, MD is Assistant Professor of Surgery in the division of Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Trauma at Weill Cornell Medical College and Assistant Attending Surgeon at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. He practices at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group queens located in Fresh Meadows, NY. Dr. Oh specializes in pediatric minimally invasive surgery, including advanced endoscopic, laparoscopic and thoracoscopic techniques. He enjoys a wide range of clinical interests and expertise, including neonatal and congenital anomalies, pediatric general and thoracic surgery, pediatric gastrointestinal surgery, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and pediatric surgical oncology. Dr. Oh is fluent in Spanish and Korean. He received his undergraduate degree from the Johns Hopkins University in 2002. He earned his Master of Science degree from Georgetown University in 2003 and his medical degree from New York Medical College in 2007. He completed residency in general surgery at New York Presbyterian - Columbia University in 2013. During his residency, he completed a research fellowship at the Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of Columbia University in the laboratory of Dr. Robert Cowles. He performed research on short bowel syndrome and complex intestinal reconstruction with intestinal lengthening. Dr. Oh then went on to complete a two year clinical fellowship in pediatric surgery at the Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of Columbia University. He is an active member of many prestigious medical and surgical societies, including the American College of Surgeons, the American Pediatric Surgical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the International Pediatric Endosurgery Group. He is also currently a reviewer for the Journal of Pediatric Surgery Case Reports. He has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and abstracts. He has also been invited to present his research findings at a number of national and international scientific conferences.
