About Peter G. Gordon, MD

Dr. Gordon is the Medical Director of the Comprehensive Health Program (CHP) at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital's Columbia campus and a Professor of Medicine at Columbia University's School of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Gordon is a practicing HIV/HCV Specialist and Primary Care Provider within the Designated AIDS Center at NewYork-Presbyterian, a clinical investigator within the Columbia Collaborative HIV/AIDS Clinical Trials Unit, and a clinical investigator at Columbia University's HIV Center for Clinical and Behavioral Science. He is the former Chair of the New York State AIDS Institute Quality of Care Advisory Committee and currently serves on the Clinical and Research Committees of Healthix, a regional health information exchange (RHIO) based in NYC. Dr. Gordon's research interests and contributions have focused upon healthcare delivery systems evaluation, consumer health information technology, bioinformatics, HIV and Hepatitis C care and prevention. Recent work has focused upon understanding and improving HIV and HCV care and prevention services through IT enabled institutional care cascades, EHR enhanced HIV risk assessment, and health information exchange event notification for people living with HIV and HCV who are lost to care. He has authored or co-authored over 30 scientific articles on topics ranging from HIV prevention, workforce development, HIV testing, therapeutics, and bioinformatics. He currently is the Principle Investigator on a number of CDC, NIH, HRSA, and NYC DOHMH HIV research and service delivery grants.
