About Rachel E. Ginsberg, PHD
Rachel Ginsberg, Ph.D., is the Assistant Director at Columbia University Clinic for Anxiety and Related Disorders (CUCARD) - Westchester. She is also an Assistant Professor in Medical Psychology in Psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center, and regularly provides trainings and workshops in evidence-based treatments. In addition to providing clinical services as a psychologist, she supervises trainees, and specializes in the evaluation and treatment of adults, emerging young adults, adolescents, and children with mood, anxiety, and related disorders.
Dr. Ginsberg is trained in evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (EX/RP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and has worked in a variety of settings, including pediatric and adult clinics, as well as partial hospital and inpatient hospital settings.
Dr. Ginsberg received her Ph.D. from Hofstra University and completed her pre-doctoral internship at Northwell Health (formerly North Shore-LIJ) Medical Center. She has worked within the Division of Psychiatry for several years. She served as an extern in research and clinical positions at New York State Psychiatric Institute, within the Pediatric Anxiety and Mood Research Clinic (PAMRC), as well as within the Anxiety Disorders Clinic, where she conducted diagnostic assessments and specialized in providing treatment for OCD and anxiety disorders in youth and adults. She has completed clinical practicums in working with individuals and couples with perinatal and postpartum issues, which is one of her areas of specialty. Dr. Ginsberg has also provided individual and family treatment for first-episode mental illness, as well as worked within the Anxiety and Depression clinic, Autism-Spectrum Disorders clinic, and DBT clinic at Hofstra University. Her research interests include finding novel ways to maximize treatment for anxiety and related disorders.
