About Rebecca Marrero Rolon, M.D.
Rebecca Rolon received her bachelor of science degree (magna cum laude) in biology from the University of Puerto Rico in 2007, and then her doctor of medicine degree from the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine in 2015. She completed post doctoral training in anatomic and clinical pathologyas a resident at NewYork-Presbyterian and Weill Cornell Medicine in 2019. She then completed a medical microbiology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in 2020.
Rebecca is boarded in clinical pathology as well as medical microbiology. Her research interests are in infectious diseases and in rapid diagnostic methods used in the histopathological diagnosis of Helicobacter pylori. She has been an invited speaker at the national discussing her work on helicobacter pylori. She was an Assistant Professor at the Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY and joins our department as Assistant Professor and Associate Director of the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory.
