About Reena Jaiswal, MD
Reena Jaiswal, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College and an Assistant Attending Psychiatrist at New York Presbyterian Hospital. She is a faculty member of the inpatient Psychosomatic service where she supervises fellows, residents and medical students who perform psychiatric consultation on medically-ill patients in the general hospital. She also serves as the psychiatric liaison for New York Presbyterian's Rogosin Institute for Kidney Transplantation and New York Presbyterian Hospital's Perkin Heart Failure Center.Dr. Jaiswal received her Bachelor's degree from New York University and medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. She then completed her residency training in psychiatry at Stony Brook University Medical Center as well as a fellowship in psychoanalysis at the Institute for Psychoanalytic Education affiliated with New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Jaiswal finished a fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she received training in psycho-oncology and was awarded the Jimmie Holland Award for outstanding clinical fellow. Her interests have been in acute cognitive therapy for medically-ill patients, psychiatric care at the end-of-life, psycho-oncology and treating psychiatric illness in patients with advanced heart failure.
