About Samuel S Bruce, M.D.

Samuel S. Bruce, M.D., M.A. is a vascular neurologist at Weill Cornell Medicine. His clinical expertise is in vascular neurology, and he provides comprehensive, patient-centered care to patients with stroke, transient ischemic attack, intracerebral hemorrhage, and a variety of other vascular conditions. He has a specific interest in cerebral amyloid angiopathy, and conducts clinical and translational research focusing on pathophysiological mechanisms, biomarkers, and clinical outcomes of cerebral amyloid angiopathy-related inflammation (CAA-ri).


Dr. Bruce is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Weill Cornell Medical College, and serves as an attending physician at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and New York-Presbyterian/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. He received his medical degree from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, a masters degree in mathematics from the City University of New York-City College, and his bachelors degree in political science from Colgate University. He completed neurology residency at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he won the Dr. John J. Caronna Award for clinical excellence, and subsequently completed a vascular neurology fellowship at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. He is board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and is a member of the American Heart Association and American Academy of Neurology.
