About Shannon Kelly Tam, CNM
She graduated from Columbia University's Nurse-Midwifery program in 2003 and has spent 11 years caring for underserved communities in Manhattan and NJ. She most recently worked for 7 years in the Metropolitan Hospital Midwifery Service where she provided full-scope care to an amazing community and polished up her Spanish. Prior to becoming a midwife, Shannon studied molecular biology and biochemistry at Wesleyan University while focusing on gender studies.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with Park Slope Midwives and specifically Dr. Shannon. I have never felt as heard and seen with any other doctor as I have with Dr. Shannon. I have never once felt rushed or ignored during a visit. She speaks to me slowly and clearly, in a way that makes me feel respected and valued. All of my concerns have been taken seriously and I genuinely feel as if Dr. Shannon cares about my well-being as a person. Dr. Shannon has always gone the extra mile to make me feel comfortable during appointments. I am beyond grateful that I have found a provider as caring and thorough as Dr. Shannon.
