About Sherelle Lea Laifer-Narin, MD
Dr. Laifer-Narin graduated from Yeshiva University, Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed a residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in NYC and a fellowship in cross sectional imaging at the University of California San Francisco. Prior to coming to Columbia, she worked at LAC-USC primarily in ultrasound with a focus on Ob/Gyn ultrasound, and then moved to UCLA where she worked in the ultrasound section.
At Columbia Dr. Laifer-Narin oversees the ultrasound section, practices abdomen and pelvic CT, and is in charge of a newly emerging field, fetal MRI. She works in both the radiology and Ob/Gyn departments, and is known to both departments as an expert in both fetal and maternal diagnostic imaging.
Dr. Laifer-Narin is known as an expert clinician and teacher in Ob/Gyn imaging. She is involved in several research projects including fetal ultrasound/MRI, diagnostic imaging of the pregnant and postpartum patient, placental imaging, and GYN oncological imaging.
She has lectured extensively at many academic institutions, is a senior member of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, is involved in the International Society for Ultrasound in OB/GYN and has organized courses and presented scientific papers, exhibits, and lectures at several national and international conferences.
