About Stephanie Conner, MD
Dr. Stephanie Conner joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of General Medicine as an Associate Professor and Medical Director for the Section of Hospital Medicine in July 2024. She has been an academic hospitalist for her entire post-residency career, with interests in medical education, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), clinical operations, and physician leadership. She has previously served as the Medical Director for Nighttime and Cardiology Hospitalist Services at UCSF, and Medical Director of the Inpatient Medicine Teaching Service at Washington University in St. Louis prior to joining the CUMC faculty.
Dr. Conner is a member of the POCUS Special Interest Group Executive Council for the Society of Hospital Medicine and the recipient of several institutional grants for the development and implementation of POCUS curricula for hospitalists and internal medicine residents. She has authored several peer-reviewed publications and presented numerous conference abstracts at the national meetings of the Society of Hospital Medicine, Society of General Internal Medicine, and American College of Physicians. She is also a nationally-recognized POCUS educator at regional and national CME conferences.
Dr. Conner is passionate about the growth and expansion of POCUS in hospital medicine and graduate medical education, academic hospital medicine, and optimizing clinical workflows for the benefit of clinicians, trainees and patients.
