Butch Thomas is a cardiac anesthesiologist and has been since 1974. He took his residency, chief residency, and cardiac anesthesia fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and has worked there, at New York University, and now at Weill Cornell. He has been President of the American Board of Anesthesiology, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the International Anesthesia Research Society, and Chair of the Residency Review Committee for Anesthesiology.
