About Vena Budhan, Ph.D.

Dr. Vena Budhan received her PhD in clinical psychology from Palo Alto University with an emphasis in clinical neuroscience and women's health through a consortium program with Stanford University School of Medicine. Prior to pursuing her doctoral studies, Dr. Budhan obtained a master's degree in psychology from The New School for Social Research and designed and launched a resource center with a focus on increasing awareness and access to behavioral health care.

Dr. Budhan completed her doctoral internship at Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West Hospitals and her doctoral externships at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and the Stanford Center for Neuroscience in Women's Health. Further, she has worked on a range of research projects that include investigating evidence-based trauma treatments at the Palo Alto VA National Center for PTSD to researching perinatal and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders at the Stanford Women's Wellness Clinic. Dr. Budhan's research and publications have focused primarily on how mental health interacts with gender and reproductive hormones during a woman's lifespan.

Having done both her academic and clinical training on the East and West Coasts, Dr. Budhan brings many years of experience working with adults from a vast array of backgrounds. She has a deep understanding of the multiple layers of identity a person holds and recognizes the influence of individual, cultural, and contextual factors on treatment. Dr. Budhan is committed to providing the highest quality of care through a thoughtful, individually tailored, and integrative approach that utilizes evidence-based treatments.
