About Xiaoping Wu, MD

After earning her undergraduate degree as a Danforth Scholar at Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Wu received her medical degree from New York Medical College. She went on to complete her Internal Medicine residency training at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, graduating with the Ira B. Cohen Award for Most Outstanding Medical Housestaff before pursuing fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Wu's clinical interests center around advanced lung disease and fibrosis. Her patient-centered approach to care is grounded in an understanding of the complexities of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and her ability to provide care that is tailored to the individual patient's needs by developing treatment plans that combine a minimally invasive approach with the latest research advances.Dr. Wu’s research interests include discovering biological markers of pulmonary fibrosis and developing molecular tools to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of this disease. Her current research focuses on lung involvement in connective tissue disease. This work has thus far received recognition from Respiratory Disease Young Investigators’ Forum and Stony Wold-Herbert Fund. She is also a co-investigator in numerous national clinical trials for pulmonary fibrosis.
