About Yadira P. Batiz Dolmo, PsyD
Dr. Batiz is a bilingual clinical psychologist in the School-Based Health Clinics of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medical Psychology (in Psychiatry) at Columbia University Medical Center.Dr. Batiz received her B.S. from the City College of New York with a mayor in psychology. She received an M.S. in psychology from Hunter College of New York and her doctorate in clinical psychology with a specialization in primary care psychology from Adler University in Chicago, Illinois. During her clinical training, she has held a variety of clinical positions at different community mental health, hospital, and university settings in the New York City and Chicago areas, as well as served as a clinical supervisor of a short-term clinical training program in Lima, Peru.Dr. Batiz has extensive experience in treating children, adolescents, and adults, with an emphasis on Latino and African American communities. She specializes in the link between chronic medical conditions and psychological functioning. She has further expertise in behavioral issues, stress management, relationship and family conflicts, immigration trauma, and other mental health challenges. She is trained in evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy, although her treatment approach is an integrative one.In addition to working at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University, she has a private practice in the Bronx treating adults and families with a variety of clinical presentations.
